Announcements: Mag Lab's new recycling guidelines

Mag Lab's new recycling guidelines

Soon you'll see new posters around the building that explain what the lab does and does not recycle. Here are some highlights:
  • Newspapers, magazines, paper and books can all go in the same paper container (though please bag shredded paper separately before you put it in the bin). No paper clips, please; staples are OK.
  • Starbucks paper coffee cups can be recycled, but don't put the lids in the paper bin.
  • Both plastic bottles and their tops can be recycled, but please empty the bottles and separate the lids from the bottle before recycling.
  • Just because a container carries a recycling symbol does not mean it can be recycled locally. Plastic containers with numbers 1-7 are recyclable. Yogurt and cottage cheese plastic containers are not.
  • Cardboard carts are strategically located by the elevators for cardboard recycling. Please break down your boxes before placing them in a cart.
  • Finally, recycling bins are not trash cans.
If you have any questions about the lab's recycling program, contact Sean Coyne.
